FAQs

What is the first session like?

While many envision laying on a couch and be peppered with questions endlessly, our first session will just be a discussion about you. Why are seeking counseling? We might talk about events that led up to your current issue. We might discuss your comfort level at the first session. In the end, our first session lets each of us learn about the other.

After our first session, we’ll meet together each week for a 50-minute session for a month or so. In some incidences, I’ll meet with individual family members to learn their unique perspectives on the situation. After we’ve been meeting for a month or so weekly, together we’ll determine the best meeting frequency for you and your family. Many of my clients continue to meet weekly, while others move to every other week or even monthly. Each person is unique and so are their counseling needs.

How Do I Get Started?

Call or text me at (214) 455-1114. Or, if you prefer, email me at bryan@ritchiecounseling.com. Once we set an appointment time and date, I will send you my intake and consent forms to complete. These explain your rights and protections. They also give me a snapshot of your current situation.

I also offer a free 10-minute consultation to answer any questions you may have and ensure that we are a good fit. If I don’t feel I can help your family, then I will refer you to someone who can. My goal is to help your family and I have a large network of helpers to serve you.

What is your fee?

My fee is $140 per hour. I do offer sliding scale fees for clients needing assistance.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I accept Aetna, Cigna, United, Oscar, and Oxford insurance plans.
